Strategic review/sale - glass manufacturing industry

Situation An innovative Australian-based glass manufacturer, with licensed operations in China and Dubai, had backdoor-listed a UK public company. The UK company had struggled with implementation, leading to rights reversions. Licensees were left with under-developed manufacturing facilities and limited knowledge of IP and access to working capital.

Task Thirdman was engaged to design a new structure to protect IP, resolve partner conflicts and encourage cross-territory leverage of manufacturing facilities.

Action Identifed, mediated and resolved licensee conflicts across three time zones and cultures. Risk/benefit analysis of strategic development options and alternative structures. Documented agreed strategy.

Result New corporate structure endorsed by the group, including Australian licensee being offered desired international CEO role. This in turn lead to successful management of a trade sale of the Australian business to a horizontal supplier with a similar customer base.
